Pieria, home of the Olympic gods and the Muses, stretches out over the southern section of central Macedonia, from Olympus to the Pierian Mountains, as far as the Pierian plain in the east and the popular beaches in the west. Grecja ma niewiele takich miejsc, gdzie występują tak liczne kontrasty, tworząc niezwykły, harmonijny pejzaż, na który składają się połacie górskie uwieńczone koronkowym wybrzeżem morskim, rolnicza, spokojna codzienność i szalony puls życia turystycznego, który osiąga swe apogeum w okresie letnim, czego odzwierciedleniem są liczne kurorty nadmorskie.
